Light of the World

- Written December 2008
Where the wagon fords the stream
The driver beckoning onwards
Drawing the eye to sunlit walls
Reflecting rays which disappear
Into distant clouds tinted
With snow from another light
Radiating in a myriad directions
Eternal source for a world
Of combined cameos incarnate
Dispelling the shadows of the valley
And possessing creation’s beauty
As the workers move forward
Continuing life’s journey.

After reading Isaiah 9 on the first Sunday in Advent, and with thoughts of the multiple sources of light and cameos in Constable’s painting: ‘The Hay Wain’
